Primary Healthcare Activity Monitor for Europe [PHAMEU] [2006130] - Project
General objectives

The PHAMEU project aims to establish a sustainable health information and knowledge system on the state and development of primary care systems in Europe.

Strategic relevance and contribution to the public health programme

The project will provide comparable data and show variations and models of provision and good practice in primary care in European countries.

Methods and means

The project will conduct systematic literature searches, use statistical databases, study policy and other documents, and consult national expert panels.

Expected outcomes period

The PHAMEU project will:
provide a monitoring system that results in up-to date comparable data on the structure and organisation of primary care systems in 31 European countries;
provide a first update of this data during the course of the project;
show trends and variation in primary care strength across Europe, and knowhow of policy strategies conducive to strengthening primary care (e.g. in terms of accessibility, integration, responsiveness).
