The strategic objective of the project is to improve the health of migrants and communities affected by migration and, therefore, to tackle existing health gaps. The project’s goal is to enhance the understanding of the complex relationship between health and population mobility.
1) Follow-up and build on recent European initiatives in migration health. In particular, the project will take into consideration the migration health-related conferences and consultations of 2007 and develop synergies with European-level migration health projects currently being implemented.
2) Create a forum for discussions among experts on health and migration. The project seeks to bring together academics, national authorities, representatives of international organizations and NGOs and enable them to exchange their expertise, to discuss concrete cases, identify best practices and draft policy recommendations. The participants will also identify areas in which more data needs to be collected and analysed as well as areas where more research needs to be conducted.
3) Enable EU Member States to learn from each others’ practices and foster dialog among academic institutions, multiple stakeholders in governments, the European Commission, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations. The project seeks to encourage these multidisciplinary stakeholders to develop action points for integrating the project’s recommendations into health and related strategies at the national and EU levels. This widened involvement will support a multi-pronged approach beyond the traditional target audience of health professionals.
4) Disseminate widely the final report of the workshop results and consultation conclusions to key stakeholders for migration health issues.


The project intends to raise and harmonise quality of care and enable equity (environmental, social, gender and geographical) of care of rheumatic diseases and other musculoskeletal conditions across the Member States by further developing a relevant health surveillance and information system.


The general objective of the `e-CAPACIT8` project is to strengthen the capacities of European occupational health professionals (OHPs), so that they can facilitate the process of workers` ageing. The primary objective is built on four specific objectives (SOs), namely:

SO 1: to analyse and review the state of the art of the European OHPs` training curricula;
SO 2: to identify and continuously enrol the biggest possible number of stakeholders in the project, throughout its duration;
SO 3: to develop training material for use through the platform;
SO 4: to launch the functional version of the e-learning platform and actively enrol active users.

It is believed that such a formulation of the SOs will foster coherent proceedings during the project, whereas their successful completion will warrant the achievement of the project`s overall aim.


The project aims to use multidimensional prognostic indices(MPI)that predict survival, based on a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), to improve the cost-effectiveness of health interventions in older individuals with multimorbidity and polypharmacy. The best setting-specific MPI-profile in which individual interventions are effective and reference models for allocate resources in healthcare will be identified to promote integrated care pathways of interventions.
The general objective is to reduce unnecessary use of health care resources according to appropriate and tailored, integrated multi-professional, planned interventions to the older subjects.




The general objective is to prevent onwards HIV transmission and other sexually transmitted infections (STI) from people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) to sexual partners by supporting service providers (SP) in HIV care settings to deliver adequate sexual and reproductive health (SRH)-related services (i.e. sexual risk reduction and fertility-related services).

