To build capacity at the European, country and local levels by providing the evidence base and collecting best practises to prevent the harmful use of alcohol amongst older people, including the transition from work to retirement.


The project aims to identify, qualify and implement good practices in cross-cutting community initiatives to promote health-enhancing physical activity in socio-economically disadvantaged areas. Specific objectives are

* Qualification/valorization of good practices
* Promotion of good practices
* Mobilization of cross-cutting partnerships and networks in physical activity
* Implementation of pilot actions


- Providing the most up to date statistics on CVD in Europe (including a cost of disease study in the EU) and analysing these data
- Identifying the most effective and cost effective CVD prevention policies
- Predicting future CHD trends
- Sharing knowledge on nutrition, physical activity and the prevention of cardiovascular diseases in Europe
- Building capacity in the cardiovascular patients` community



The project ICARE4EU aims to contribute to the innovation of care for European citizens with multiple chronic conditions by increasing and disseminating knowledge of potentially effective and efficient models of integrated care for people with multiple chronic conditions that are developed and implemented in (parts of) European countries. The vast majority of people with multimorbidity are older individuals. Integrated care addresses their integral needs for health and social care, and is provided by multidisciplinary teams of professionals and/or informal carers.
ICARE4EU will describe the state of the art in 30 European countries; evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of current integrated care programmes; identify best practices from different perspectives; generate knowledge about key characteristics and conditions for successful management and implementation of integrated care programmes; design a template for future monitoring of the developments in multimorbidity chronic illness care; and disseminate its findings throughout Europe.



The project contributes to enhancing the European Union population’s health, by improving asylum seekers’ and undocumented migrants’ access to health care. Médecins du Monde (MdM) aims at documenting asylum seekers and undocumented migrants’ access to health care in the EU. MdM also seeks to promote these populations’ right to access health care on equal terms with nationals, and a right to protection against deportation for seriously ill foreigners.

