The development of effective methods of engaging with workplaces, and their workforces, to raise awareness and bring about organizational and individual change that lead to safer alcohol consumption, and thus a reduction in alcohol-related absenteeism, presenteeism and injuries. This will be achieved through the development and dissemination of a practical and robust cross-cultural tool-kit able to support the delivery of workplace-based interventions that will bring about safer alcohol consumption amongst the European workforce. The project will produce a report identifying best practice and recommendations for European, national, regional and local policy-makers. The project will improve the health and well-being of European citizens, contribute to the objectives of the Lisbon agenda, and enable workplaces to mitigate the potential negative consequences of the economic recession on alcohol-related harm.

"The members of the ENWHP work together towards the vision `healthy employees in healthy organisations`. They are committed to the mission of developing and promoting good workplace health practice, which in turn contributes to a high level of health protection and sustainable economic and social development in Europe"(Article 1). This vision is part of a broader vision at European policy level:

The EU Lisbon Agenda identifies the goal for this decade to develop the EU region `to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion`. In this context workplace health promotion is part of the concept of quality in work with impacts on productivity, employment and social cohesion.

With its vision and mission, ENWHP contributes especially to the reduction of health inequalities, to the development of a European health information system and to improving important health determinants with impacts on all relevant settings in working and non-working life.

Stichting Aids Fonds - Soa Aids Nederland (SANL) is host organisation of the network AIDS Action Europe (AAE). SANL is a national organisation involved in STI/HIV control and sexual health promotion.
AAE`s mission is to unite civil society to work towards a more effective response to the HIV epidemic in Europe and Central Asia. We strive for better protection of human rights and universal access to prevention, treatment, care and support. We work towards a reduction of health inequalities focussing on most at risk populations and the epidemic in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
As regional network of ICASO (International Council of AIDS Service Organizations), AAE is part of ICASO`s mission to mobilize and support diverse community organizations to build an effective global response to HIV and AIDS. This is done within a vision of a world where people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS can enjoy life free from stigma, discrimination, and persecution, and have universal access to prevention, treatment, care and support.
AAE`s core values: be accountable and hold others accountable; be transparent; be inclusive; put in practice the GIPA principle (greater involvement of people living with HIV); work from a human rights based approach; facilitate a networking and partnership culture; be cost-effective; make a difference.
Our mission is communicated through our website, in leaflets, works plans and annual reports.

The members of the European Network of Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP) work together towards the vision `healthy employees in healthy organisations`. They are committed to the mission of developing and promoting good workplace health practice, which in turn contributes to a high level of health protection and sustainable economic and social development in Europe.
This vision is part of a broader vision at European policy level: The EU Lisbon Agenda identifies the goal for this decade to develop the EU region `to become the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world capable of sustainable economic growth with more and better jobs and greater social cohesion`. In this context workplace health promotion is part of the concept of quality in work with impacts on productivity, employment and social cohesion.

Healthy work impacts on the quality of working life and non-working life, and contributes to the level of health protection of communities and populations. It also impacts on microeconomic performance (productivity and innovation) and macroeconomic performance (efficiency of the health care, welfare and education sector, competitiveness of businesses at company, national and European level). Healthy work finally also contributes to social cohesion.

Healthy work is organised through processes both inside and outside enterprises that are based on the general management cycle, and specifically include infrastructure building and marketing.

With its vision and mission, ENWHP contributes especially to the reduction of health inequalities, to the development of a European health information system and to improving important health determinants with impacts on all relevant settings in working and non-working life.
